Hello friends! Long time no post!

Lots of fab things have happened in the last 4 months, but here are some highlights!

So after spending 2 months living in the SOMA district in Greg's 3-level loft equipped with puppy, I moved on over to the mission district to my co-workers place off of 16th and Guerrero with lots of fab restaurants and bars which I have yet to really fully experience cause i've been running back and forth from May til now between Sac, SF and the middle of america for mandarins!

But now that thats settled, I have a little more time to... spend more time doing social things!

Ive gone shoppin down Fillmore at least 4 times and visited he Tat-lovin Marc by Marc Jacobs (if youre reading this tat, thank you for bringing this mans creations into my life).  And Tat also introduced me to "bittersweet" home of the best hot chocolate north of Leonidas!

Because BART is freakin sweet (and i get riciduclously cheap bart tics thru the state, yea employee discount!) and goes directly into the union square/westfiend shopping center area... I be doin that alot too.

I popped my concert cherry back in april with John Legend and Corrine Bailey Ray at the Greek in berekely with a handful of UCLA alums, go bruins! And it didnt stop there as I have since then went to 3 more concerts at the Fillmore, Sara Bareilles/Aqualung (go bruins!), Trey Songz/Ne-Yo/Fabulous and Consequence/Crisette Michelle/Musiq.  Woohoo!

There's this local grocer named Bi-Rite near my place in the mission and it has its own ice creamery with funky flavors like "salted caramel", "balsalmic strawberry", "and lavender vanilla" (you organic earth loving folk are so random).  I went there one day after gettin off work at 2pm and just took a leisurely stroll with my ice cream back to my place.  That was pretty neat, the daytime is so nice in the city.

And just last week, I was makin mac n cheese but didnt have any milk.  Instead of walking 5 blocks to safeway, I figured the "local grown, local bought" Bi-Rite would have milk... so I opted for the 2 block walk.  It was so busy and I couldnt help but stare at all the funny shaped vegetables! Apparently, I couldnt even tell what half the stuff was without the label.  Anyways, my point... I bought a basket of cherry tomatoes and they were orgasm in my mouth delicious! I still think about everyday...

Work is good! I moved from the detour structure to the new bridge transition structure! That basically means I'm inspecting work that is actually going to still be there in 20-30-40 years! Remember, the transition structure is torn down after the new bridge is done!  And I'll be workin this labor day while the bridge is closed.  There's all these safety meetings and logistical meetings and I've gotten to meet all these high up people, its really neat.  The higher up the ladder you go, the less nerdy and better socially the people get!  So yea my labor day weekend shifts were scheduled for 4am to 1pm each day... I hope we dont fuck it up! Im excited!

Ok, until next time!

(btw sorry, didnt go back to edit anythings... im on crackspeed again!)

OK I got real lazy with the updating... and well, nothin has changed, I'm still too lazy (and busy for that matter).  But umm... in a recent string of personal teary eyed moments (to be discussed later) I just wanted to say...
THANK GOODNESS MELISSA S. GOT THE BOOT!

I know, I know... pathetic that I got kinda hooked on The Next Pussycat Doll... but I got more hooked on the fact that Melissa S. (formerly known as the rejected garbage of Making the Band 3 aka NOT a member of Danity Kane) and her irritating personality were advancing closer and closer to their dreams (aka my nightmares).  For sure I knew she'd never go all the way (cause Melissa R. and Asia are so much better), but I just had to make sure Chelsea stayed in longer than she did, and last night that finally happened!  Chelsea is the not as hot, not a great dancer, but a great vocal and personality chick... which i just couldnt help but root for (obviously the underdog).  And after much criticism from Melissa S. THAT BITCH IS FINALLY GONE (and crying i might add).

So my point.... I took so much pleasure in the triumph of little miss chelsea, my eyes got all watery! And even though she probably wont win... She's definitely going somewhere.  (My money is on Melissa R. aka minimee Nicole Shwerzinger)

and in other reality news... I still cant pick my fav for american idol.  After Phil and Sanjaya get their much needed boots (not the shoe kind), I really dont know who I would want to send home... I guess Lakisha? After last night... I think my top 3 are Chris, Jordin and Melinda... but I think America will go with (teeny tiny mouth) Blake, (no neck square shoulders) Melinda and Jordin/Sanjaya (America has the power to f*ck things up... look at our pre...tzel).

Ok thats it... work is busy and I'm tired.  630am shifts, 5 days a week.
and one last... DAMN, for all that shit that went down at VTech...

Hi! Im alive! And I haven't quit my job yet... thats got to be some good news!

Xanga is going to be harder to upkeep than I thought...

So my first week was pretty cool.  I got pretty extensive tours of everything going on allover the island (YBI and TI) as well as the Skyway. So that you know what I'm physically talking about, here is a map!

If you happen to be a big ol geektard interested in whats going on with the bridge... go here!
http://www.baybridgeinfo.org/

So the contract I'm working on is the Yerba Buena Island Transition Structure.
This is the island... cept it doesnt quite look like this anymore cause my buddies dug the shit out of it in order to build the new structures... yea.

And here's what will be there eventually: (2-3 years from now...)

So the orange part is what I'm currently working on.  If you wana be cool, tell your friends that there's going to be a 77-hour closure this labor day 2007 so that we can demo (as in demolish) the old approach into the tunnel and literally "roll-in" this prefabricated structure at an angle (currently being
made in Dongkuk, Korea right now... and you thought "made in china" was bad) that will eventually be part of the transition structure.

ANYWAYS... thats my job. To clarify, I'm not actually physically building this thing.  Construction workers who are trained in things like carpentry, crane operating, welders, etc. who work for contractors who get paid by State tax dollars are the ones who build the bridge.  Caltrans (my people) are there for quality control/assurance.  So Caltrans is basically
there to make sure the contractors people build everything according to the contract plans and specifcations (checking their work, basically).   And we also make sure the contractor isnt trying to cheat the state out of their money by charging us for things they arent doing or dont need.  yea... I'll share in more detail later!

I'm gona heat my clam linguini leftovers and watch me some Idol (as in American)!
There's more to come, soon I promise!

 It's alive! It's alive!

(as in my Xanga)

I'm in San Francisco. This is so freakin awesome! I can walk everywhere! And once I figure out this whole public transportation concept... I can stop walking! And Chris and I went to the ballet last night!

Startin my new job tomorrow working on Yerba Buena Island (the island between Oakland and San Francisco that the Bay Bridge runs through).  The project is the South Detour portion for the Bay Bridge transition phase.

I'm stayin with a friend for March and his place is super sweet.  Its a 3-level apartment and I hold reign over the living room, which is on its own floor. Most importantly, its 5 miles from my job site or 8 miles from my office in a reverse commute situation.  But then again, I'm living out of my suitcase.

And thats life for now.  Traded in my heels and cubicle for boots and a hardhat.

More updates to follow!

to be poor and alive... or to be stashed and irritated...

Oh life, why do you hate me so!?!?! Anyhooters, this post will make sense eventually, I swear!  I know I'm pretty vague with these xanger things, but hey... thats for me to know and you to be irritated about!  And I've been meaning to post about China, Hawaii, how work is going, sexlife and all the other irresponsible things I've been doing the past few months... but HEY, I'm too busy doin irresponsible things at the moment.

Something funny about being grown up and working... I've always moved my money between 2 accounts, a checking and savings.  But I've never had this much money before! And so, since i see it there I think I'm fine and I'll spend as i please... My savings account was becoming more like... a backup checking account! hahaha... well... I had to outsmart myself and open a 2nd savings thats harder to access the money.. or rather, too complicated for easy access for my lazy ass!  Go me. Proudest adult move in my life.
